Technology News: Online affiliate marketing to grow 30%: "July 5, 2005 (AXcess News) New York - Piper Jafrey analyst Safa Rashtchy said that affiliate marketing online will remain strong in 2005 and should grow 30%, in line with overall online spending.

Rashtchy's comments were taken from Piper Jafrey's weekly newsletter, Silk Road Weekly, which is Rashtchy's observations of the web and the companies the investment banking firm follows.

The two largest affiliate networks are Commission Junction/Be Free (owned by ValueClick) and Linkshare (private). Commission Junction/Be Free has approximately 2,000 advertisers and 50,000 affiliates in its network. For ValueClick, affiliate marketing represents 31% of its total 2005 revenues and 41% of its gross profits, by our estimates."
